OVERVIEW:
Attendance is expected at all initial Newspaper Club meetings.
Anyone can submit items to the newspaper via submission box inside the door of room 215 or email.
Editor in Chief: (Claire P.) This person is responsible for the final copy of the newspaper issue. They are the last person to edit and check over the final product before it is given to the teachers. Editor in Chief also functions as secretary at meetings (writes meeting minutes).
Layout Design:(Elizabeth W.) This person receives ALL of the items for the newspaper from the Copy Editors. They do not do any editing. They are responsible for organizing everything into the draft copy of the newspaper. Once they are done getting all of the items organized and put together through Microsoft Publisher, they hand the draft over to the Editor in Chief.
Copy Editors: (Head of Copy Editors- Daniel A., Copy Editors- Carolyn K., Emily L., Gabby M.) These people are in charge of editing the individual writing pieces. They will get the submissions from the designated Copy Editor Box. They should correct grammar, spelling, and mechanical errors before they hand over each item to Layout Design. All items must be electronically sent to the Layout Design person.
Columnists: These people are the students who write regular submissions from issue to issue. This includes written articles, and regular artistic items. They are responsible for the substance of the newspaper.
Head of Submissions: (Amber N.) This person will review all of the visual submissions (artwork, comics, etc.) before giving them to Layout Design. They will get the visual submissions from the Art Director Box. All items must be electronically sent to the Layout Design person.
Head of Photography:(Jonathan K.) This person will designate what photos need to be taken and who will be taking them. They will collect and review the photos before handing them over to the Layout Design person. All items must be electronically sent to the Layout Design person.

World news, local news, team news, field trip reports, music, art, drama, band, shout-outs, interviews, surveys, advice column, games, comics, horoscopes, how-to (top ten lists), Why me?, contests, poetry, photography, artwork, book/movie/music reviews, tips for success, trends, teacher interviews, and anything else you get approved!
